After getting into the car, the first stop was a petrol station. The filling full tank cost me only 4 euros. It is small, but speaking about a 43 liters tank it is a difference that would be evident very much in calculations. The computer was showing a fuel distance of little more than 550 kilometers. Fear gripped me. There were about 50 kilometers to my house, my speed was 90 km/h, because I was on M-30 and I could not drive faster. In this car the error of the speedometer is approximately 8 km/h, as always to the fall. First of all I was impressed by its tires, aerodynamics and especially the engine. I could swear that Citroen C2 HDi I tested in 2004 was less noisy, but then I had to admit that I was less experienced in 2004. I traveled the first 78 km, computer showed 4, 1 l/100 km. As for vibrations, I should admit it was vibrating no more than TDI of the Ecomotive (CRTD is L4, TDI L3). It has a five speed manual transmission gearbox; its design enables better acceleration, which is 0-100 km in 15, 5 seconds. It does not mean it asks for the sixth one loudly, but in certain conditions it might go faster. Next day I initiated the night trip to Murcia. It is approximately 400 kilometers. At the first petrol station I stopped to check pressures, but the machine was out of service. The following one where I could stop was in 10 kilometers. With already warm tires Toyo R27 I had to add 0.2 bar more than recommended one. With the wheels pressure that I wanted, I started my trip. My speed was between 110 and 120 km/h (102-112 km/h real) on the route A-3, A-31 and A-30. I traveled without baggage. I lacked the comfort of a good berlin. The arrow of the revolution tachometer was at the edge of 3.000 RPM, the engine noise was difficult to stifle. It was necessary to increase volume of the music center very much. When I stopped on half way from Tamoil to Albacete, in the suburb of La Roda, I checked the pressure again. It was 0.5 bar below than I wished, one of two manometers was lying. I inflated tires again as I wanted and continued my way to Murcia. All the time I watched the speed in a rough way, it had no regulator. It was a very calm trip. In the suburb of the city, on A-7, a limit was 80 km/h and I reduced my rhythm. The difference in noise was considerable after reducing speed from 120 to 80 km/h. The speedometer was showing 478 km after the fueling, and was remaining combustible for more 233 km, with an average consumption 5, 1 l/100 km and 89 km/h real. In accordance with my calculations 711 km with 43 liters gave an average consumption 6, 05 l/100 km, much higher than consumption declared for this car. To be continued… .
